Consultative Meeting: Enhancing the Diaspora’s Contribution to Innovation and Investment in Algeria

Yesterday, Mr. Nour Eddine Wadhah, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Microenterprises, participated alongside Mr. Sofiane Chaïb, Secretary of State in charge of the National Diaspora Abroad, in a consultative meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting brought together a group of Algerian entrepreneurs and investors returning from abroad, as well as project holders in the process of implementation within the country.

During the meeting, the Minister emphasized that the participation of the diaspora in investment and innovation represents a real lever for diversifying the national economy, highlighting that the state has provided significant facilitation in areas such as financial transfers, establishing startups, and funding high value-added projects.

Mr. Wadhah also pointed out that the Ministry ensures support for all investors by providing a stimulating business environment and coordinating efforts across sectors to implement their projects on the ground, thereby promoting a transition toward a productive economy based on knowledge and innovation.

The meeting witnessed wide participation from representatives of the industry, agriculture, and tourism sectors, alongside the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency and the Bank of Algeria, in an atmosphere marked by open dialogue and exchange of experiences, reaffirming the state’s commitment to supporting the diaspora in contributing to the new economy based on skills and knowledge.
