GEW2025
Mr. Nour Eddine Waha, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Microenterprises, officially launched the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW 2025) in Algeria yesterday, Tuesday, under the high patronage of the Prime Minister.
The launch ceremony was attended by several government members, including the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Bedari, and the Minister of Youth in charge of the Supreme Youth Council, Mostafa Hidaoui, in addition to the Dean of Algiers University, Mohamed El-Mamoun El-Kasmi El-Hassani, and senior state officials.
During his opening speech, the Minister emphasized that the goal of this participatory initiative—built on enhancing coordination among all key actors in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem—is to register the largest number of activities nationwide and to benefit all social groups.
He also highlighted the importance of integration between universities, training centers, other knowledge hubs, and the mechanisms established by the state to promote entrepreneurship, noting that this harmony represents a fundamental basis for building a strong and diversified economy. The launch event featured the presentation of several new mechanisms by various entrepreneurship promotion agencies.
The ceremony also marked the announcement of the first exit transaction of a startup from the Algerian Startup Fund (ASF) since its establishment in 2020, achieving investments of up to $5 million from the local financial market, representing a qualitative leap for Algeria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Finally, it should be noted that all activities during this week, and until the end of November, will only be counted in the global ranking after being registered through the following link: https://www.genglobal.org/node/add/activity
