The Minister Oversees the Launch of the “1,000 Micro-Projects” Challenge to Contribute to Food Security
On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, Mr. Noureddine Ouadah, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-Enterprises, presided over the launch of the challenge organized by the National Agency for the Management of Microcredits, titled “She Can – تقدرلها”, under the slogan “1,000 Women – 1,000 Projects”, at the Riyas El-Bahr Arts and Culture Center (Fort 23).
This initiative, led by the National Agency for the Management of Microcredits, aims to transform traditional skills into micro-projects in areas such as drying, canning, and marketing of agricultural products, through comprehensive support including financing, training, networking, marketing, and export.
In his opening speech, the Minister called for active participation in diversifying the national economy, noting that many agricultural products are increasingly in demand on the global market, opening opportunities for export. He also highlighted the importance of this dual initiative, which combines craftsmanship rooted in Algerian cultural heritage with locally developed industrial machinery provided by institutions, designed to facilitate work, increase productivity, and improve quality.
The Minister praised such initiatives and emphasized that the Agency should play a greater role in economic empowerment and contribute to building a new economy based on youth, technology, and knowledge, while also strengthening food security, one of the country’s key strategic priorities.
The Minister also visited the exhibition held on the occasion, which featured products created by artisans across various food sectors.
